Two weeks before the 2026 midterm elections, Federal Election Commission filings reveal that Reid Hoffman, the billionaire co-founder of LinkedIn, is a major financial supporter of House Majority PAC (HMP). The Democratic group is currently deploying a high-cost advertising strategy centered on the Jeffrey Epstein files to pressure Republican incumbents. Hoffman’s contribution arrives at a critical juncture as the group ramps up spending in key battleground districts.

HMP has allocated $543,300 specifically for an ad campaign targeting Alaska Republican Representative Nick Begich. The advertisement critiques Begich for initially voting against a procedural motion on the Epstein Files Transparency Act, even though he later supported the final legislation. The ad copy states, "How did Jeffrey Epstein hide it? He was protected by the elites, elites like Nick Begich." Begich, who represents Alaska’s sole congressional district, faces a challenging re-election bid against this targeted messaging.

Beyond Alaska, HMP has distributed nearly $4 million across other competitive races. Records indicate the group spent $2.06 million in Pennsylvania’s 1st District, $628,000 in Pennsylvania’s 8th District, $550,150 in Arizona’s 2nd District, and $480,000 in Iowa’s 2nd District. Advertising tracking firm ADMO confirms that all of these advertisements launched within the past week, coinciding with the final push toward Election Day.

The connection between the top donor and the subject of the ads has drawn sharp criticism from the Republican National Committee. Natalie Baldassarre, an RNC spokesperson, characterized the funding as hypocritical. She stated, "Democrats have no problem with money in politics so long as it benefits their own campaign, even if it comes from certified perverts like Reid Hoffman who maintained a relationship with Epstein after his conviction." Baldassarre added that Democrats "have no morals when power and money are on the line."

Documents from the Justice Department’s Epstein Files library detail a history of interaction between Hoffman and the late financier. The records show they exchanged correspondence, gifts, and jointly raised funds for MIT’s Media Lab. Hoffman visited Epstein’s private island and his New York residence. In a Christmas Eve email from 2014, Hoffman informed Epstein he had sent a pair of gifts, including ice cream and a surfer statue intended for the island.

Hoffman has previously addressed the relationship, telling The Wall Street Journal in 2019 that his last interaction with Epstein occurred in 2015. He expressed deep regret for participating in fundraising activities where Epstein was present, noting that he helped "repair his reputation and perpetuate injustice." There are no formal allegations in the cited records that Hoffman participated in Epstein’s sex-trafficking crimes. Fox News Digital has requested comments from HMP regarding its acceptance of the funds and from Hoffman’s representatives, but neither group has responded as of the filing date.
