Heidi Klum transformed into a massive, severed left hand for her annual New York Halloween celebration on Saturday. The look marks the 25th anniversary of the event she hosts. Her costume featured dripping blood, dangling ligaments, and long red nails. Only her eyes and mouth were visible through the prosthetic covering.
Klum first considered the concept last year. She examined her own hand and decided to fit her body inside a replica of it. The final design included her thumb ring, engagement ring, and wedding band. She also incorporated a tattoo of her husband’s name on the ring finger, along with detailed palm lines and veins.
The supermodel said the construction process took considerable time. Getting into the costume required five to six hours on the day of the party. She posted photos of bloodied prosthetics being applied to her face on Instagram earlier in the day.
"Hands down, the hardest thing is carrying it," Klum said. "It's quite heavy." She was assisted by helpers wearing blood-stained hazmat suits during the event. Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, missed the party because he was on tour.
Klum has hosted the party for two decades. Past costumes included a worm, Medusa, a peacock, and an 8-foot-tall Transformer. She arrived at the 2022 event on a fishing line in a slithering worm outfit, which went viral. The 2026 gathering continues her tradition of elaborate, body-concealing disguises.
The event remains a major stop on the celebrity Halloween calendar. Klum’s choice to replicate her own hand adds a personal twist to the annual spectacle. The costume required extensive physical effort to manage. Her team helped her navigate the venue in the heavy prosthetic.
