Williamson County residents will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 3, to vote in the 2026 general election.
The ballot includes contests for Texas Senate, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. Voters will also decide on local offices, school bonds, and board positions. The Williamson County Elections Office and the Texas Secretary of State's office provided the details for this election cycle.
Polling stations across the county operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Any registered voter in Williamson County can cast a ballot at any designated site within the county boundaries. The county office published a list of specific locations for voters to use.
Texas law requires voters to show an acceptable form of photo identification when voting in person during early voting or on Election Day. The state accepts a Texas Driver License issued by the Department of Public Safety. Other valid forms include a Texas Election Identification Certificate, a Texas Personal Identification Card, or a Texas Handgun License, all issued by DPS.
Voters may also present a United States Military Identification Card that contains their photograph. A United States Citizenship Certificate with a photo serves as another valid option. The United States Passport, in either book or card form, is also accepted for identification purposes.
If a voter does not possess one of these photo IDs and cannot reasonably obtain one, they may present supporting documents. These include a copy or original of a government document showing the voter's name and address, such as a voter registration certificate. A current utility bill, bank statement, or government check also qualify as supporting ID.
A copy or original of a paycheck is another accepted supporting document. Voters may also use a certified domestic birth certificate or a court-admissible document confirming birth to establish their identity. The state lists these options for those who lack the primary photo identification requirements.
