Two brothers were found dead from gunshot wounds on Moshe Dayan Road in Tel Aviv on Monday morning. The initial police investigation suggests one brother shot the other before taking his own life.
The victims were a man in his 50s and a man in his 70s. Their bodies were discovered near the entrance to a bank branch and a senior citizens' center. A handgun was located close to the scene.
Magen David Adom dispatchers received an emergency call regarding two injured individuals at 9:32 a.m. via the 101 hotline in the Dan region. Medics and paramedics arrived to find both men lying unconscious in the street. The crews determined neither man had a pulse or was breathing, leading them to pronounce both dead at the scene.
Meir Grossman, an emergency medical technician with the MDA motorcycle unit, described the condition of the victims upon arrival. He stated that the men had penetrating wounds on their bodies. Grossman noted that the medical team performed examinations and was forced to confirm the deaths at the location.
Police officers from the South Tel Aviv station arrived to investigate the shooting. Investigators opened an inquiry to determine the exact sequence of events. The investigation remained active as of the morning report.
A resident living nearby told Walla that the sound of gunfire initially caused her to fear a terror attack. She described locking her windows and assuming a threat was inside her building. The noise quickly stopped, followed by the arrival of ambulances.
The resident said she ran downstairs to investigate the source of the noise. She found the two men lying dead on the sidewalk. She described the sight as frightening and said her body was still shaking from the shock of the early morning event.
