Jay-Z will perform the halftime show at the 2027 Super Bowl on February 14 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced the selection on Monday night, confirming the rapper as the featured artist for the event.

The announcement featured a short video showing the artist seated in the stadium surrounded by goats. The clip included the caption, "GOAT's out of the bag." This follows days of public speculation about the performer, particularly after Jay-Z closed his recent tour at the same venue.

The "Jay-Z 30" concert run began with three shows at Yankee Stadium in New York, continued with performances in London, and concluded over the weekend in Southern California. This marks his return to the stage where he will now headline the league's most watched entertainment segment.

Roc Nation has partnered with the NFL since 2019 to advise on and produce the league's entertainment presentations. At the start of that partnership, Jay-Z told NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, "If this is about me performing at the Super Bowl, then we can just end this conversation now." Seven years later, he has accepted the role.

Born Shawn Carter, the artist has won 25 Grammy Awards and received 89 nominations, the second highest total in history behind his wife, Beyonce. His catalog includes albums such as "Reasonable Doubt," "The Blueprint," and "The Black Album." His 1996 debut album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame last year.

Jay-Z co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records and established Roc Nation in 2008, expanding his career into artist management and sports. He became the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017 and joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.

Previous halftime performers include Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and The Weeknd. In a separate trend, Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny saw sharp gains in streaming charts following his recent performance, holding the top six spots on Spotify's Top 50 U.S. chart the morning after the show.
