Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl halftime show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The rapper is stepping into the spotlight for the first time since the event moved to a new format, leveraging his role as a key decision-maker through his production company, Roc Nation. Roc Nation has partnered with the NFL to produce the halftime show since 2019, giving the organization direct control over the lineup and creative direction.

The selection process places Jay-Z in a unique position to curate the performance. Rather than booking an external headliner, he chose himself for the 14-minute slot. This decision aligns with his long-standing influence on the platform, which has featured major global artists in recent years. The NFL will not announce the competing teams for the championship game until the final day of January, leaving the on-field matchup as a separate mystery from the entertainment component.

Speculation has turned to the potential special guests who may join Jay-Z on stage. While no official announcements have been made, four names have surfaced based on historical ties and recent professional interactions. These candidates share deep musical histories with the rapper, ranging from early career mentorship to long-term personal relationships.

Beyonce, Jay-Z's wife, is frequently cited as the leading candidate. The couple has collaborated on numerous hits, including "Crazy in Love" and "Drunk in Love," and has toured together extensively. Beyonce has performed at the Super Bowl halftime show previously, most recently during the 2016 event alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars. She also performed the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2001 and appeared during the 2024 Christmas Day game in Houston.

Rihanna is another strong contender, given her professional origins at Def Jam Records under Jay-Z's leadership. She later signed with Roc Nation in 2010. The two have recorded tracks such as "Umbrella" and "FourFiveSeconds." Rihanna appeared as a surprise guest at Jay-Z's tour at Yankee Stadium earlier this year. She previously headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023, a performance that included a public pregnancy announcement.

Blu Ivy Carter, the couple's oldest child, has gained visibility as a performer in her own right. She danced during her mother's 2024 halftime show in Houston and joined the Cowboy Carter tour as a dancer. Her presence at NFL games with her father suggests a family-oriented theme could be central to the 2027 performance. Eminem, who joined Jay-Z on stage during his current tour, represents a fourth possibility. The two collaborated on the track "Renegade" for the album "The Blueprint," and Eminem performed as a special guest at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show.
