Jacob Allen Morley, an escaped Tennessee inmate serving a life sentence, is currently linked to an armed robbery at the Bank of Deerfield in Wisconsin. The heist took place on Tuesday just before the bank closed. A gunman entered the facility, demanded cash, and restrained two employees before leaving with money. No one was injured during the incident.
The suspect fled the scene in a Lincoln MKZ stolen from the parking lot. Law enforcement later located the vehicle unoccupied. While the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is aware of the robbery, the agency has not yet confirmed that Morley is the man who committed the crime.
Morley broke out of the Northwest Correctional Complex on Monday. He used a white 2008 Ford F-150 belonging to Lindamood Planting Company to make his escape. The truck was found abandoned in Marion, Illinois, early Tuesday morning. Police indicate there is no evidence placing Morley in that specific area after the vehicle was left behind.
Authorities are intensifying their search for Morley, who was convicted of the 2022 murder of Cody Birchfield. Tyreece Miller, the U.S. marshal for the Western District of Tennessee, has raised the reward for information leading to his arrest to $15,000. Morley is listed on the Tennessee Most Wanted List and is considered dangerous.
Daniel Russell, a friend of the victim, described the fugitive as a monster who will strike again. The public is asked to call 1-800-TBI-FIND with any information. Witnesses are advised to call 911 if they see Morley and to avoid approaching him.
