Nike Launches $165 Shoe Pairing Spike Lee Legacy With Space Jam Anniversary

Nike made the Jordan Spiz'ike Low Jam Central available on Thursday, November 5, at a price of $165 on its website. This release serves a dual purpose for the footwear company. It marks the 20th anniversary of the initial Jordan Spiz'ike and the 30th anniversary of the movie Space Jam.
The connection between the brand and filmmaker Spike Lee spans decades. Lee has directed commercials for Nike and Michael Jordan's Air Jordan sneakers since the mid-1980s. His character Mars Blackmon from She's Gotta Have It appeared in numerous advertisements for the sports apparel company. In return, Jordan Brand created a dedicated sneaker for Lee in the mid-2000s.
The Jordan Spiz'ike design incorporates elements from six different Air Jordan models. These include the III, IV, V, VI, IX, and XX. The line has released various colorways and limited editions over the years. The new Jam Central edition uses premium materials. The upper combines authentic and synthetic leather to create a look that blends modern style with retro appeal.
Specific details reference Lee's professional identity. The logo for his production company, 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, is placed on the heel. The Space Jam theme appears in the artwork. Bugs Bunny is depicted in the pose of the Air Jordan Jumpman logo. The color palette consists of black, green strike, racer blue, and atomic orange.
