Louisville City FC will host Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, at Lynn Family Stadium. The match marks the opening round of the USL Championship Playoffs and coincides with Halloween weekend. The club has structured the event to combine competitive soccer with family-oriented promotional pricing.
Children ages 14 and younger wearing costumes will receive free entry. The stadium concourse will host a trick-or-treat event beginning at 5:30 p.m., with candy bags provided to attendees. This initiative targets families seeking a cost-effective way to attend the game.
Gates open at 5 p.m., launching a happy hour that features discounted beer, Pepsi products, and Fireball. The first 2,000 fans entering the venue will receive a complimentary Louisville City scarf sponsored by Pepsi. These early-bird incentives are designed to drive traffic before the match starts.
A dedicated value cart located behind Section 228 will sell a family pack for $19.99. The bundle includes four hot dogs, four Pepsi products, popcorn, and pretzel bites. This fixed-price offering allows groups to manage their food and beverage expenses for the duration of the event.
Louisville City enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference. Pittsburgh holds the No. 5 seed. The top eight teams from each conference advanced to this single-elimination format. Higher seeds retain home-field advantage in the quarterfinal round.
The club is making its 12th consecutive appearance in the USL Championship Playoffs. Louisville previously won league titles in 2017 and 2018. It secured Eastern Conference championships in 2019 and 2022. The team also claimed the Players’ Shield as regular-season champions in 2024 and 2025 and added a USL Cup title earlier this year.
If Louisville advances from Friday, it will maintain home-field advantage in subsequent rounds. The conference semifinals are scheduled for Nov. 6 through Nov. 8. The conference finals will take place from Nov. 13 through Nov. 15. The USL Championship Final is set for Nov. 21.
