Vista Unified School District secured a $543 million bond authorization as voters approved Measure N with 56.34% of the vote. The measure authorizes funds for classroom repairs, science lab upgrades, and technology improvements. It requires the district to maintain current tax rates while the bonds remain outstanding.

The San Diego County Registrar of Voters posted these results at 2:51 a.m. on November 4. The count is unofficial. Measure N required 55% support to pass. It received 20,023 yes votes against 15,518 no votes. The ballot estimates a property tax levy of $58 per $100,000 in assessed value.

Oceanside voters rejected Measure S, a proposed half-cent sales tax, by a margin of 382 votes. The No side received 21,880 votes while the Yes side collected 21,498. The measure would have generated an estimated $20 million annually for city services and infrastructure over ten years. It included provisions for independent audits and citizen oversight.

In the same city, Oceanside voters approved Measure R by a wide margin. Yes votes totaled 27,135 compared to 15,325 No votes. The measure amends the city charter to align public works contracting rules with state law. It adjusts provisions governing prevailing wages and project labor agreements.

San Diego County voters approved two countywide measures on the same ballot. Measure A passed with 51.68% support, establishing independent ethics and budget offices. It also increases the supervisor term limit from two terms to three. Measure B received 51.62% approval for a half-cent sales tax dedicated to health and safety services.

Measure B funds wildfire prevention, emergency response, and Tijuana River Valley sewage cleanup. The ballot estimates annual revenue between $400 million and $450 million. The tax continues until voters end it. Oversight and audits are required under the measure's terms.

Statewide, California voters passed multiple bond measures and tax extensions. Proposition 37 received 60.9% support for $25 billion in homebuyer mortgage bonds. Proposition 38 passed with 56.6% approval for $8.4 billion in immunology research funding. Proposition 3 made higher income tax rates permanent with 58.8% support. Proposition 40, a one-time 5% tax on billionaires, failed with 43.5% support.
