1,500 floor seats are available for the upcoming University of Miami Homecoming concert, which will feature rapper NLE Choppa as the headliner. The event is scheduled for Nov. 11 at the Watsco Center, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and the performance beginning at 8 p.m. Admission is free for all UM students, who must present their Cane Card for entry.
University of Miami Hurricane Productions confirmed the booking following a weeks-long promotional campaign. The team revealed the artist on Oct. 29 by dropping a flyer from the third floor of the Donna E. Shalala Student Center at 6:30 p.m. The reveal included smoke effects and drew cheers from students gathered at the Lakeside Patio. Jake Sperling, marketing coordinator for HP Live, noted that watching the banner drop and hearing the crowd was a high point for the staff.
Before the public reveal, HP Live posted three clues on Instagram to build anticipation. The first clue referenced a jackpot, alluding to the artist declining a $3 million deal. The second clue identified Memphis, Tennessee, as the artist's hometown and mentioned his high school basketball background. The final clue used the song Camelot as a direct hint. Georgina Paez, a junior studying media management, said she knew the artist from the hints and had already secured a ticket.
NLE Choppa is known for hits such as Shotta Flow, Camelot, Walk Em Down featuring Roddy Ricch, and DO IT AGAIN featuring 2Rare. After the reveal, students attended a listening party at the Rat, where the artist's music played during the evening celebrations. This continues a tradition of high-profile performers at the event, which has previously hosted A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Olivia O'Brien, Cheat Codes, Quavo, 21 Savage, Flo Rida, and Marshmello.
Tickets are distributed via email and in the breezeway in the days leading up to the show. Trinity Vodovoz, program lead for HP Live, instructed students to claim their tickets through the email sent to their UM accounts. Production confirmed via email that the free ticket giveaway and the accompanying notification were sent to all students on the morning of Oct. 29. Students can request their free tickets through Ticketmaster.
